Featured classic interviews from WWI and II are shown in every episode as well as a series of videos depicting the incredible recovery of Halifax NA337 from the depths of Lake Mjoso in Norway.

1 The Discovery
Karl Kjarsgaard, Director of Halifax 57 Rescue meets with
RCAF Veterans, Tony Little and Ed Rae in Ottawa to discuss
the possibility finding a Halifax Bomber From World War II.
Karl hears s tory about a mysterious WWII plane in a lake.
Hank Jackson, Halifax Veteran tells the story of his wartime
battle experience. Jeff Jefferies waits as Karl returns to Norway to meet the two gentlemen who found the plane using sonar.


Shop talk from both of our ReBuild Centres at the Arnprior
airport and in Nanton at the museum. Scott Knox joins
Karl by Zoom to update him on the progress.

Karl describes the 4 engine start up of the Lancaster at the
Bomber Command Museum of Canada in Nanton. In Part 2
of NA337, details of the search continues.
Bud Ward of Edmonton remembers his nights in a Lancaster
bomber over Germany. In Part 5 of NA337, Karl and Jeff meet
the only survivor of the crash at a pub in England.
Jack Cowan, became the Master of Ceremonies over Germany
in his Mosquito to lead the bombers to their targets. The NA337
story continues with Tony Little at Tholthorpe, England.
Air Cadets are the featured flyers here in Gatineau at Vintage
Wings hangar. In Norway, Karl watches as they lift the tail from
the depths of Lake Myosa.
Scott Know at Knox Tech in Arnprior, show their workmanship on
the heavy wings of the Halifax. Karl travels across Great Britain,
collecting parts for the rebuild.
Official RCAF Photographer, Victor Johnson is remembered by
his Daughter Tracy as Chris Charland reveals his great talent for
capturing action shots. Moby Grip, the Halifax Lifting Device is
described as the tool needed to extract the plane from the mud
after 50 years.
Alberta Wallace tells of his experience after being shot down and
captured. Alberta spent his time in POW camp, Stalag Luff 3,
home of the Great Escape. Jeff and Tony explain the flight path
of Halifax NA337 as he flew over the gun positions by the bridge.
Near the end of WWII, Holland was in desperate need of food.
Joe English of Nanton , Alberta was a Lancaster pilot as they
were involved in the massive, emergency Manna food drop of 1945.
Jeff studies the operation to date and is concerned by some
issues regarding the lift.
The story of the bouncing Bomb Bomb and the Dam Busters is
told by Ted Barris of Toronto, an expert in World War II affairs.
In Norway, technical and weather issues surround the plane as
the recovery continues.
Scott gives us another Arnprior ReBuild Shop update as more
parts arrive. We do a flashback segment here with a look at the
opening days of the ReBuild Shop in Arnprior.
Karl shows off the latest developments in the recalibrations of
the heavy Hercules engines in Nanton. Thomas Weightman, the
only survivor of the NA337 crash landing on the lake, joins Karl ,
Tony and Jeff as they see the tail section in the warehouse.
General Paul Manson takes us on Part 1 of his visit to the Carp
Nuclear War Bunker. In Norway, Dag announces
that the ROV Robot is stuck on the lifting device, 750 feet down.
More engine updates from Nanton as they attempt the start a
third 50 year old aircraft engine. As the first stage of the lift is
coming to a close, no one expected the Halifax to get jammed
up on the surface.
More developments from Karl and his Engine restoration in
Nanton. Show 17 and the plane is about to be freed from
Lake Mjosa.
Karl and the team at Nanton finally test the their new Hercules
engine that had not been run for 50 years. The story of Halifax
NA337 continues with the historical rebuild at 8 Wing Trenton
and their incredible journey over 30 years to Belgium, Italy,
England, Malta, the USA, Sweden and Canada.
